j.crew factory finds.

I hadn't been feeling J.Crew Factory lately--everything seemed to look a bit cheap and be rather overpriced, but I was quite pleased with their inventory when I stopped in last weekend in Maine.

Here are a couple of the things I scooped up--basic staples, but I think they'll all get a lot of wear this season:

{ v-neck pullover sweater }
I bought this in the Heather Dusk and Heather Olive--they're cozy and slouchy and I'll be living in them.

{ striped dress }
I love this dress - it's a bit darker in person, but the length is great and it works with booties, sandals and flats. Warning: it runs weirdly small in the back--I had to go up two sizes and it's definitely not form-fitting, but super comfy and cute.

{ classic wool fedora }
I'm not 100% percent convinced I can pull this off, but you can't beat the price.

{ ruffle-sleeve t-shirt }
Basic with flair, I thought this was fun (and again, a good length for you ladies with long torsos.

who what wear x target.

{ sleeveless fluted shift }

{ v-neck tunic }

{ cape blazer }

Have you checked out the Target collaboration with Who What Wear? I feel like there wasn't as much hype as there usually is with this launch, which worked out nicely because my local Target had a lot of pieces in stock when I went there days later. I bought the items above (the tunic in black and cream), and the most expensive thing was the cape blazer at $39.99--you can't beat that!

borrowing from the boys.

1 // 2 // 3

This past weekend when I was up in Maine I popped into the Ralph Lauren outlet on a desperate search for some sort of a poncho. (Because, aren't all searches related to ponchos utterly desperate?) Instead of leaving with what I had in mind, I walked out with two men's shirts--for me. I think there's something so chic about a woman wearing an oversized men's shirt. Frankly, I'm ready to throw all of my lady versions out the window--the men's are so much more comfortable, and I don't have the button problem where I walk around town inadvertently showing off my brassiere.

Would you borrow from the boys?

sweater weather.

As all of you New Englanders are well aware, it has been sooooo cold out. Olive refuses to go out without some sort of  jacket, and even then she's shooting me nasty looks as she does her business. It's not fun.

But I found something that's making my excursions outside a little more bearable:

I scooped up this cardigan at Old Navy for a steal (today, it's an extra 30% with code EARLYGIFT), and it's perfect for the bitter cold weather we've been having as of late--super cozy and heavy and great for lounging.

get comfy.

I'm loving all things Emerson Fry this season, but I'm particularly enamored with this sweater and those shoes. With the temps dipping in New England this week, there would be nothing cozier (or more chic).
