I don't currently have $2.3 million dollars lying around, but if I did, I would be scooping up this house on Westport Island. Built in the early 1800s, this 3 bed, 3 bath house is the perfect size and the renovated kitchen is to die for. Coupled with the fact that it's on six acres and has a dock, it's a literal dream come true. I'd never leave.

The top photo was posted to AD's instagram back in August of last year, and I was immediately obsessed. I absolutely love the juxtaposition between old and new, and it works (despite a slew of comments on the post indicating otherwise). I will forever appreciate keeping on old house that was on the verge on disrepair intact and adding updates instead of bulldozing for a new build.

a modern house in nova scotia.

I feel like the New York Times is an overlooked resource when it comes to design inspiration--I absolutely love its Real Estate section and there have been a number of houses (either for sale or featured) that I have bookmarked over the years--here's one of them that was on the market in 2022:

I've found myself drawn to modern, giant windowed houses more and more--I know there's an aspect to them where you feel like you're on display and living in a fishbowl, but a secluded location on a beach? Sign me up.
